Are 100% Hand-Tied Wigs Worth The Hype?

Posted on August 16 2018

There are several different cap types to choose from when choosing a wig. Among the nicest caps you’ll find 100% hand-tied wigs. These wigs are made by individually tying each strand into the wig cap by hand. Today we will go over why these wigs are so expenesive, and why they are indeed, very much worth the hype!

Are 100% Hand-Tied Wigs Worth The Hype?

Hand-Tied Caps Provide Several Benefits to Frequent Wig Wearers

The reason so many people flock to hand-tied wig cap styles is that they wear extremely well, they are comfortable, and they provide a very natural feel and appearance in the way they style and move. Check out our top 3 reasons that 100% hand-tied wigs are worth the hype!

They Last Longer

Everyone loves a wig that lasts for a long time, and 100% hand-tied caps definitely last longer than the average wig. The precise processes involved in tying each hair individually ensures a very reliable structure that can withstand washing and brushing with ease. If you want a wig that can stand up to everyday use, you can’t go wrong with a hand-tied cap design.

They Are More Comfortable

Another important feature that wig wearers search for is comfort. Hand tied wigs are designed in a way that allows them to stretch more freely, which in turn makes them more comfortable. If the caps you are used to wearing feel as if they squeeze your head despite proper sizing, a hand-tied cap may be a good alternative for you.

They Look Better

Despite both of those reason, it is important to remember the primary purpose of most wigs: to look good!! 100% hand-tied wigs look great. They move similarly to bio hair, since each hair hangs in the way bio hair does from the scalp. Additionally, hand-tied caps can also be styled more similarly to bio hair, since the hairs are not confined to wefts.

I prefer 100% hand tied due to having alopica . They are more comfortable and I can wear it all day . I wish they were available in more colors and styles.

I’m new to hair pieces and have discovered that I have a very sensitive scalp and can’t wear many toppers and wigs. Would a hand-tied be the best way to go?

I’d love to try a hand-tied, but the cost is prohibitive.

I am “new” to wearing wigs and tried less expensive ones at first, only to return them.
Once I tried 100% hand-tied, there was no coming back! They look so natural, and I get many compliments (which did happen with my natural hair).
It is totally worth the money. If my family asks me what I want for my birthday, holidays, etc, I tell them I am taking “contributions” to buy a new wig. It usually works!

    Hi,
Thank you for the article on caps and hand tied. I’ve worn wigs for years and years. All sorts long, short, full cap, front lace but the only one I haven’t been able to try is the hand tied unfortunately since, for me, the cost is too much for me 😢

I’ve got several hand tied wigs and I love them. Most are Ellen Wille along with Jon Renau Mariska petite. They do feel great, extremely light and I can forget they’re on my head. I love knowing that even if someone caught a glance at my “scalp”, they wouldn’t see wefts. I actually find them cooler than wefted wigs. The cap structure is so light that air flows freely through to your scalp. Since they tend to go hand in hand with mono tops and lace fronts, they create the most realistic wigs possible.

Id love to buy a hand tied wig but the cost and also the fact that most wigs only come in an average size and I need a petite keeps me from finding the perfect one for me.
